Welcome to our home! I’m so glad you stopped by today. One of my favorite things to share for the whole year is our home all decked out for the holidays!

I absolutely adore decorating our home for Christmas. The sparkles, the colors, and the magic of Christmas lights all work together to create a festive atmosphere for the holiday season.

As a classic girl at heart, you will certainly find plenty of classic Christmas touches in our home in every room.

A Room-By-Room Christmas Tour

So let’s take a little tour, room by room, and I’ll share some of my favorite ways you can create a classic look in your home, year after year, for Christmas.

A Festive Front Porch

You’ll be greeted on our front porch with lots of Christmas greenery and bright red bows.

For me, nothing is more classic than red, particularly red bows on wreaths and greenery around our front door and on our front windows. At night, our house is lit with beautiful Christmas lights, making the red bows just glow.

A Welcoming Entryway Sets the Tone

In our foyer, the Fontanini nativity set on our foyer table sets the tone and importance of the season.

All the Christmas decorations are lovely, but if the focus isn’t Jesus, the season doesn’t have meaning.

Add Vintage Ornaments

A few years ago, I started collecting vintage Christmas ornaments. I love the nostalgia, the color, the classic look, and the history intrinsic in each lovely Christmas ball.

I decorated a tiny little Christmas tree with a few of our vintage ornaments, placing it in a silver pedestal bowl, and filled with extra ornaments. The colorful ornaments look so pretty and festive next to our nativity scene.

Evergreen garland and crimson velvet bows create a festive touch on our banisters.

Christmas in the Living Room

The centerpiece of our living room is our Christmas tree, a 7.5 foot Queen Flock tree from King of Christmas, decked out in dark crimson and blue, and featuring my favorite blue plaid and velvet ribbons cascading down.

This year I made folded paper glittered Christmas stars, which give our tree a vintage feel set against the flocked branches. You can read more about our Christmas tree decor and get all the details for creating the folded Christmas star ornaments in this post.

Classic Mantle Decor

On our mantle, I added Norfolk pine garland with lights and a few Christmas balls.

For a unique DIY ornament, I added Napoleon Blue chalk paint to an old plastic ornament and created a velvety look by adding cornstarch to the wet paint.

Once dry, I brushed off all the excess cornstarch to reveal a lovely surprise. This project created a crackled marble look on the ornament — a fortunate mistake probably due to a chemical reaction that added unique beauty to our mantle.

We hung clusters of the blue ornaments, small mercury glass ornaments, and crimson ornaments along the mantle, and added dark red velvet ribbon on the ends cascading over our creamy cozy stockings.

Don’t Forget the Fireplace Hearth

The My Texas House line at Walmart had the most beautiful large wooden jingle bell ornaments this year!

I filled a basket with faux branches, large pinecones, and these gorgeous wooden jingle bells and added it to our fireplace hearth for a cozy look.

A Simple and Classic Coffee Table

Our coffee table is simply decorated with Cyprus greenery (my favorite), a blue and white ginger jar, white pillar candles in hurricane vases, and a collection of red and green ornaments in a dough bowl.

It’s a simple yet festive and inviting look — especially on cold evenings when the candles are glowing.

I added a little Christmas village of ceramic houses and wooden trees to our built-in living room shelves.

Dining Room Christmas Tour

Our dining room had some fun touches this year.

I found a realistic-looking wreath from Walmart. Isn’t this the prettiest wreath? It came with a large red velvet bow, to which I added a little darker crimson velvet ribbon for an elevated look.

On our table, I kept it simple with a large round rattan bowl full of greenery, a large hurricane vase and candle, pinecones, festive Christmas balls, and velvet ribbon. I’m using our simple jute runner and added a couple of wooden taper candle holders. It’s such a simple look that works for all the events of the season.

I love using a low profile centerpiece to accommodate all the wonderful dinner conversations.

A crystal bowl full of vintage gold ornaments and our favorite Santos angel on the sideboard create a perfect decoration.

We love this simple addition to our dining room decor. I filled a large DIY hand-painted urn with greenery stems, white branches, and pinecones, then added a strand of small white globe lights. It adds a lovely soft glow that brightens a dark corner of our dining room.

In the Kitchen

Our kitchen theme this year featured miniature Christmas houses.

I can’t tell you just how much fun I had with this little DIY. It wasn’t a quick project, but it was oh, so enjoyable! And I absolutely love how they turned out! I’ll definitely be creating more of these!
