Seven on Saturday: Fresh Inspiration for October

Happy Saturday on this first weekend in October!

Bits & Pieces

  • It’s the beginning of Caroline’s fall break, and we’re all enjoying a little getaway for a fall refresh! Caroline has the sweetest little friend group and one mom has taken them to visit grandparents in Florida, and of course enjoy some beach time!
Four smiling young women stand together in an airport terminal holding stuffed animals. Signs, including one for “All Gates,” and a “Churchill Downs” store are visible in the background, capturing fresh ideas and October inspiration. Travelers walk nearby.
  • Jeff and I are enjoying our own quick little getaway with a couple of days in Tennessee. We’ve headed to the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg for a couple of days which allows us to be in Knoxville Sunday morning to hear Zach, our oldest son, preach!

“”I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.“

A young woman with long brown hair smiles at the camera while standing outside a brick building with stairs and greenery. She wears a tan top, denim shorts, and a smartwatch—perfect October style and fresh inspiration for Seven on Saturday.
  • Caroline went on her first college visit to the University of Kentucky for an engineering day. I can’t believe we’re already doing this!
  • Have you seen Nate Bergatze? Jeff and I are seeing his show here in Louisville Sunday night, and we can’t wait! He’s so funny!

It was a great week on the blog!

A Christmas tree, expertly fluffed and lit, is decorated with colorful ornaments—red, gold, and green baubles—and glows with warm white string lights near a bright window. Learn how to fluff and light an artificial Christmas tree for a festive look.

I collaborated with King of Christmas this year, and I featured their beautiful Alpine Fir on the blog. I had a ball filling it full of colorful ornaments!

Four printed art reproductions featuring still lifes and landscapes are spread across a wooden table decorated with pumpkins, gourds, and a textured runner.
