Seven on Saturday: Beautiful Details & Favorite Things

Happy Saturday, friends! Can you believe we’re already in the thick of August? We had a few beautiful cool days last weekend, but now it’s back to the familiar summer heat in Kentucky. We’re still trying to make the most of our screened porch, even if it’s a bit muggy! Caroline started school on Wednesday, and I’m honestly not quite ready to say goodbye to summer yet.

A smiling young woman with long hair stands beside an open car door, wearing a red "Centurions" shirt and holding a phone, a patterned face mask, and a lanyard. Green trees and a building are in the background.

It’s been a busy summer around here! After wrapping up May with two bridal showers at our home, a fun day at the Kentucky Oaks, and the usual end-of-school activities, we dove into the busy summer months!

A decorative table setting with a gold charger plate, a floral-patterned plate, a floral arrangement in a glass vase, and a place card with pressed flowers and the name "Jessica" written on it.
A smiling woman in a blue dress and decorative hat poses with a man in a light suit, striped tie, and fedora at an outdoor event, likely a horse race, with a racetrack and stands visible in the background.

We helped design and decorate a wedding for some dear friends, took a family trip to Hilton Head, and had a wonderful couples’ trip to the lake.

A wedding table centerpiece with floating candles in glass vases, blush roses, greenery, and a card reading “Table Eight.” Water bottles, clear cups, and woven placemats are also visible on the table.
A group of fourteen adults poses together outside in front of a wooden fence, with green fields and trees in the background at sunset. They are dressed in summer clothes and smiling at the camera.
A smiling couple stands on a beach holding a young girl in a red dress. Tall grass surrounds them, and the sky is partly cloudy in the background.
A group of eight people, including a child, stand smiling on a wooden dock in front of the Harbour Town pier. They are dressed in casual summer clothes, with a lighthouse and buildings visible in the background.

In the midst of it all, we navigated some health challenges with our parents and spent a lot of time working through car troubles (long story, but now we have a new car!). On top of that, I’ve been hobbling around with an stress-fractured foot, which has made things a bit slower. Maybe I am starting to get ready for summer to wind down a bit after all!

Let’s catch up! What have you been up to this summer! I’d love to hear in the comments!

On the Blog:

It’s been a quiet summer here on the blog, but I’m back with a fresh post on decorating with hydrangeas! I’m also sharing a couple of related posts below to help bring a little more summer charm to your home as we hold on to these last few weeks.

A close-up of pink hydrangea flowers in a textured green glass jar, with light green hydrangeas in the background, softly focused. The setting appears bright and airy.

I adore hydrangeas! If you love them as much as I do, this post is full of inspiration for how to style them around your home!

  3. This little trash can with an automatic lid in our primary bathroom is my favorite!! It may sound silly but the little automatic lid is perfect for tossing trash in a tight little area — like our water closet!
