As our kids were growing up, I always loved finding simple ways to make Valentine’s Day feel a little extra special at home. Nothing over the top (because who has time for that, especially if it’s a school day) —just a few festive touches to add some fun to the day. Whether it was a cute pillow, a fun little garland, or a cheerful table setup for a heart-themed breakfast or family dinner, I loved creating an atmosphere that felt warm and happy, and made them feel special. Now that they’re older and 2 of the 3 out of the house, I still enjoy adding those little festive details! And if you’re like me and still love a good holiday craft, these projects are perfect—whether you’re decorating for family or just looking for fun Valentine crafts for adults to enjoy!
So today, I’m excited to share some of my favorite DIY Valentine’s Day decorations that are fun, simple, and perfect for adding a little love to your space!

If you’re looking for a way to add a little height to your Valentine decor, this is such a great idea! I like to tuck it into a vignette, but it would also make a perfect Valentine’s centerpiece or entryway decoration — and you can even remove the pink ribbon and use it year-round!
Supplies:
- Grapevine hearts (I used two of these hearts per topiary.)
- Sticks from the yard (or a wooden dowel if you don’t have one)
- A faux vining plant or greenery. I used this one from Hobby Lobby .
- Small flower pots

6. Simple Valentine’s Day Table Decorations
At our house, Valentine’s Day is all about family—not just a romantic holiday! That’s why I love creating a fun and festive Valentine’s table for us to enjoy together. It’s nothing too fancy, just simple and cheerful decorations that make the day feel a little more special. Whether you’re gathering with your kids or having a casual family dinner, these DIY Valentine’s Day decorations add a sweet touch without a lot of fuss!
Valentine Styling Tips: How to Create Simple Vignettes
One of my favorite ways to decorate for Valentine’s Day is to put together small vignettes that bring a fun, seasonal touch to a space. Whether it’s on a mantel, entryway table, or coffee table, these little styled moments make your Valentine’s Day decorations feel put together without having to redecorate your whole space.
Here are some easy styling tips to help you create a simple Valentine’s vignette:
1. Start with a Base
A tray, stack of books, or decorative runner helps define your vignette and gives everything a pulled-together look. If you’re decorating a coffee table or entryway, a simple tray keeps things organized and makes styling effortless.
2. Add a Statement Piece
Every vignette needs a focal point! A heart topiary or framed Valentine paper craft is a great centerpiece. If you’re styling a Valentine’s Day decor mantel, try layering your 3D paper art with a mirror or leaning it against the wall for a relaxed, effortless look.
3. Keep It Balanced
Balance makes a vignette feel natural. Use a mix of tall and short elements—something like a heart-shaped topiary for height, with smaller accents like yarn hearts or candles to fill in the space. Arranging items in groups of three is an easy way to create a balanced look.
4. Mix in Different Textures
Adding texture keeps your vignette visually interesting. Try incorporating:
- a candle or a small vase of fresh or faux flowers for a softer look
- a small decorative bowl filled with yarn wrapped hearts
- a Valentine pillow placed on a nearby chair or bench
5. Make It Personal
Valentine’s Day is all about love, so add something meaningful! A framed family photo, a keepsake, or a small handwritten note adds a thoughtful detail to your display. These little touches make the space feel warm and personal.
Bringing a little Valentine’s Day spirit into your home doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you try a heart topiary, a Valentine’s pillow, or a simple vignette, these ideas are easy to make and customize for your space. I hope you found some inspiration to create something you love!
