Today, I’m sharing some beautiful textured neutral rug options I’ve discovered from Quince. You probably know Quince for their stylish, affordable clothing and accessories, but they also have some great home furnishings.

They have some really beautiful area rug options that look designer but with great prices. I love a lot of their colorful patterned rugs, but today I want to focus in on some of my favorite textured neutral rugs, because a textured neutral tone rug can be such a foundational piece in your room.

Why Choose a Neutral Textured Rug

Every room needs a great foundation, and a beautiful rug can do just that! It helps define your seating area in your living room, gives your feet a soft place to land, and brings a cozy, finished feel to the space.

  • They work with any color palette and any decorating style.
  • They’re a great layering piece in a room that you can build around.
  • Their texture adds depth and interest without overwhelming color and pattern.
  • They help to define seating areas in a large open space in a subtle way.

How to Choose the Right Rug Size

It’s important to make sure you choose the proper size rug for your room.

Rug size -- all of the furniture can fit entirely on the rug.
Rug size -- big enough for the front furniture legs to sit on the rug.
  • For rugs in living rooms or any other seating area, you have two favorable options. Either purchase a rug large enough that it accommodates all of the furniture in the seating area, or at a minimum, the front legs of all of the furniture pieces should sit on the rug.
  • If purchasing a rug for under a dining table, make sure it’s large enough that the dining chairs remain on it when pulled out from the table to sit down or stand.
  • In a bedroom with a queen or king bed, an 8’x10′ or 9’x12′ rug is usually the best size. Turn the rug so that the long side runs across the width of the bed. I like for the rug to sit beneath the bottom two-thirds of the bed, extending beyond the foot of the bed to accommodate a bench at the end of the bed.
