I love this time of year when I can start gathering ideas and dreaming up ways to cozy up our home for fall. It’s fun to take a look at what colors and looks are trending to see if anything “fits” with my own personal taste, style, and color scheme.

As summer begins to give way to autumn, I love to peruse the aisles of Target for a few fun fall updates.

This week’s Target run was very successful, with aisles fully stocked with new fall finds! After several weeks full of dorm decor, my local Target shifted to full-on fall, and there’s so much to see! I spent some time strolling down the home decor aisles and getting inspired by all the new fall items.

Let’s take a look at what’s in style this fall and how you can easily bring these cozy touches into your home from one of my favorite sources — Target!

How to Style Fall Trends with Target Finds:

You can always count on Target to offer up beautiful and affordable accents for your home, but I think their earthy Hearth and Hand and Studio McGee collections really shine during autumn!

Fall Trend 1: Decorate with Moss Green for a Cozy Fall Vibe

Green is everywhere this fall — both in home and in fashion. Consider adding varying shades of green to your fall decor, but don’t forget to include moss green!

Moss green is rich, deep, and earthy and adds warmth to any room. You certainly can look to the abundance of green in nature to understand its appeal across the seasons.

Moss green pairs beautifully with warm metals like brass and copper, creating a cozy fall look. I love pairing green with the blue accents in our home year round, but love the rich look of moss green for a moody fall look.

My favorite is this cute green alarm clock with brass accents. It’s such a fun, classic look!

Fall Trend 2: Add Warm Metals Like Brass and Copper to Your Fall Decor

Every room needs a little metal to warm up the space! I love the warmth of brass and copper, and fall’s the perfect time to bring these metals into your home.

These warm metals add such a cozy glow that feels so inviting as the weather cools down. Plus, they pair beautifully with other fall colors like deep greens and rich browns, making them perfect for your fall updates.

I love this brass desk lamp from Hearth and Hand for such a classic look.

This fluted metal box would be perfect styled on bookshelves or an entryway table.

Fall Trend 3: Incorporate Marble Accents for an Elegant Look

Marble isn’t just for countertops anymore—it’s everywhere in home decor this fall. I love how marble pieces add a timeless touch while still feeling modern and fresh.

If you want to add a touch of marble to your room, think small — small accent pieces, that is! Marble trays, bowls, coasters, and other unique decorative items add a natural timeless element that works with almost any style.

Fall Trend 4: Create a Classic Fall Look with Gingham and Plaid

No matter the season, plaid always has my heart, and cozy ginghams and plaids are back in a big way this fall. These classic, cozy prints bring a timeless, homey vibe that’s just perfect for fall.. Whether it’s a throw pillow, table runner, or even a cozy blanket, these patterns instantly warm up your space with the perfect blend of tradition and style.

Fall Trend 5: Add Subtle Style with Scalloped Edges

When it comes to on-trend decor, scalloped edges are still going strong as we head into fall! There’s something so charming about scalloped edges—they add a soft, playful detail without being over the top.

Whether it’s on throw pillows, trays, baskets, picture frames, or lamp shades, scalloped edges feel both elegant and a little whimsical. It’s a small touch that adds big charm to a space in your home.

The Hearth and Hand collection is really bringing it this fall with their scalloped edge stoneware! They have several scalloped edge serving pieces including this Scalloped Stoneware Pedestal Bowl. It would be so pretty styled full of fall pears and apples, or serving up a delicious fall salad!

Fall Trend 6: Unique Candle Holders Can Elevate Your Fall Decor

Fall is definitely the time for the soft and warm glow of candlelight, and while a simple candle holder adds a classic touch to a room, unique candle holder shapes and designs are having a moment this fall!

From sculptural designs to quirky shapes, these pieces are no longer just functional—they’re little works of art, and they make everything feel extra cozy and inviting!

I fell in love with these delicate glass bubble candle holders! They have a little Anthropologie vibe, but at a more affordable price point. I paired the tall navy taper holder with the smaller green bubble taper holder for a pretty look on our entry table.

And talk about unique — this marble u-shaped candleholder is just stunning!

Fall Trend 7: Use Burgundy as a Bold Alternative to Traditional Fall Colors

Reds and burgundies are really popular this fall, both in home decor and fashion. It’s such a rich, cozy color that works beautifully as an alternative to the usual oranges and yellows we see this time of year. Whether you go bold with a throw blanket or keep it subtle with a few accent pieces, adding a touch of burgundy instantly warms up your space and brings in that cozy fall vibe.

How to Make Fall Trends Work with Your Own Style:

When it comes to decorating with trends, remember, you don’t have to embrace every trend to have a stylish home. The key is choosing the elements that fit naturally with your existing colors and decor, personal preferences, and style. Incorporate only what feels authentic to you, so your home remains a reflection of your taste while staying fresh and updated.
